Mixtape Friday

Yeah I’m bringing this back Mixtape Friday, what of it?
I’m doing this because I love music, not because I’m trying to get out of studying…right?
This past month I (along with the general public) have been obsessed with Lorde.

The fact that this girl is sixteen with the sickest vocal chords ever blows my mind. (Partially because she’s so damn good, and mainly because I just figured out she’s five years younger than me 0.25 seconds ago).
Give her The Love Club EP a listen, it won’t dissapoint. “Royals” has dominated the radio waves on this side of the world, but the first track “Bravado” has my insides feeling all warm and fuzzy.
I’m in love and so so so ever impressed.

2&3/52 Weeks

Two pictures for the price of one! (Aka I’m late posting)

Week 2/52: School is starting to kick my ass and all I want to do is be horizontal like this. I’m tired 98% of the time and starting to feel like I’m drowning in homework. Also, pillowcases are for sissies. And people who like to be clean…Week 3/52: Divergence of sorts. I feel like I’m being pulled in two opposite directions and that I can’t ever catch my breath. I’m stumbling through the dark trying to get my thoughts and life in order. The best way to sum up my how I feel are through the last three lines of Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

lets hope I’m making all the right choices…

That moment when…

you want something so bad it hurts. And then you realize that you’ve mucked up your first two years of university and the last two years, no matter how hard you try and make it up, won’t matter.

It hurts man, it hurts.

Hey, you!

This is Sam. I like Sam because our names rhyme and because she walked through a field of wheat for me. Said field of wheat attacked her leggings and felt generally pokey so I feel very grateful.I’ve met Sam twice, once on Canada Day when I was busy drinking solo and riding my bike around the neighborhood yelling at children, and last weekend. I can safely say that last weekend we had more fun together. From what I’ve collected, everyone thinks she asks silly questions all the time but that’s okay because I to like to ask questions such as “why are skyscrapers called skyscrapers, and why is the River Valley known as such?” Boom, another thing we have in common. This girl has a super infectious smile, a pretty cool jean shirt I want to steal, an affinity for posting inspirational quotes on instagram, and I think I really like her.

About A Girl

A girl who reads perceives the difference between a parenthetical moment of anger and the entrenched habits of someone whose bitter cynicism will run on, run on well past any point of reason, or purpose, run on far after she has packed a suitcase and said a reluctant goodbye and she has decided that I am an ellipsis and not a period and run on and run on…
